The Maxwell Street Foundation seeks your Maxwell Street story!

The Maxwell Street Foundation has been a Partner with StoryCorps for the past five years during which time numerous interviews were conducted at the Maxwell Street Market on Sundays and in the StoryCorps studio, the latter of which occurred during Blues Fest and for specially themed interviews with Maxwell Street photographers, donors and other friends.  You can listen to a snippet of select interviews on the Sites and Sounds page of the Maxwell Street Foundation website at  http://maxwellstreetfoundation.org/sightssounds/

As we conclude our first, five-year partnership with StoryCorps this spring, we seek more interviews to schedule in the StoryCorps studio on a day dedicated to Maxwell Street and its market.  We invite you to contact us if you have stories you would like to share about Maxwell Street.  StoryCorps interviews are typically 45 minutes in length, and are preceded by completing paperwork in the StoryCorps studio granting your permission to be interviewed.

Please contact Dr. Janelle Walker at info@maxwellstreetfoundation to schedule your interview.  Dr. Walker is a long-time member of the board of directors for the Maxwell Street Foundation, who wrote her dissertation on the Maxwell Street Market that can be read here http://maxwellstreetfoundation.org/further-reading/saving-maxwell-street-people-power-politics-urban-aesthetics-chicago/
